2- cover old face with scrap paper
3- put plastic face back on
4- tape over plastic face
5- spray paint black and sand edges
The unfinished mantle clock below
I ALSO found for $1
I purchased a clock kit for around $5

::I painted this with red underneath,
then with black spray paint.
::When I sanded it the red popped through (loved that)
::A glossy finish was given by spray painting the whole thing with clear spray paint.
::I modged some paper circles for the time, and then added my clock kit.
