I admired this chair at the D.I. multiple times. It started out at $15, then $10 and then $6. And then $5. And THAT'S when I snatched it! (You'll notice this chair in the photoshoot below) Very comfy might I add. So I had this vision in my head of a fun little reading corner with a cute little chair. I'm thinking Red wood with this fun yellow fabric. YES! So I take this baby home and take off the VERY easy on/off cushions and cute little skirt. My husband was working a graveyard shift, so I was having a fun filled busy evening of crafting and chick flicks. Well, I didn't want to sit around and hand wash these cushions did I? Well, no...I have a machine that washes things...Why use my hands when I have a machine? (Are your hands over your mouths yet?)
They were mutilated...eaten...devoured and shredded.
Tears graced my cheek (just about). My husband gave me a short lecture (about how much he still loves me). And then he grabbed some grocery bags and started to UNLOAD my machine. I took the fabric out to find that it was only my seat cushion that was mutilated. I took them out back and shook it outside...while my hubby filled THREE GROCERY BAGS of chunky foamy fluff! (No wonder that seat was SO cozy...
I hate foam...it makes me gag...it makes my teeth go numb...it makes me crumble into a very non courageous person.
My husband knows this and willingly stuffed my chair cushion...(Notice the bags of foam).
It turned out okay....right?
No...No it didn't...because and
(In case you were wondering, this is about when I quit)
So instead of whimpering with FAILURE printed on my forehead...
I decided I'm going to make my own cute seat cushion. (There's always a solution right?)
I'm looking up...and I'm going shopping for fun fabric!
To be continued...

Don't feel too bad! I did the exact same thing a few months ago. It was only a throw cushion and my washing machine was filled up at least 1/2 way!
It's a hazard when working with older foam and fabric. I love the chair and can't wait to see it all finished!
At least it is clean! I used to do this with couch cushions (pillows) that were small enough to put in the machine. Never filled up with foam. Guess I was lucky!
This post cracks me up! I am belly laughing! (Not at your misery, but the way you described it)
This seems like something that would TOTALLY happen to me.
Can't wait to see what your new chair cushions look like :)
Haha you crack me up! Well...at least it's clean! haha. I'm looking forward to seeing the new one you're gonna make. :O)
