So my sis in law was D-Iing these apples... I dont decorate with apples, but as soon as I saw them, I knew they had a refurbished future in my home...
I traced the pumpkins onto some fun paper... (This is the back of the paper...which I actually ended up liking the color of and used for one of the apples...)
I wanted to paint the sides of the apples an orangey color. I was thinking a dark orange like the paper above. I got out some bright orange paint...I dont use a ton of orange paint, so I experimented. I added a touch of black to the paint to see if that would make it a nice dark orange shade...nope, it turned puke green (odd....) So I started over and thought I'll do a light orange instead...so I added some white...and it turned yellow. (At this point I hit myself in the head with my hand...DUH! I should've at least known it would have turned yellow). Anyway, so I gave up on orange and just painted the darn sides of the apples Tan...You can never go too wrong with tan...
{Stupid yellow paint... }
I whipped out my Mod Podge, and turned my Apples into PUMPKINS! I thought about sanding the edges, but ended up liking them the way they were!
I didn't even have to take off the Hemp String and the leaves. It was THAT.EASY.
