Fabric HeadacheLESS Headbands {with WIRE}

I have a big head. Not in a cocky confident sort of way...I think. But in a large circumference sort of way. Headbands give me headaches the MOMENT it touches my head. So this is a great solution to my large problem. (get it? Large?...never mind, it was stupid)

These headbands not only leave you headacheless, but they're adorable and versatile and stay put! So here's a quicky tutorial!
Fold the fabric in half and on the fold start out cutting a point and then,
well...do this...
Just keep cutting untill you've reached your desired length (I did 36" or a yard) and then finish the other end in a point as well. I sometimes folded it in half so I could copy my first point.

Open it up and stick masking tape on the seam (now you're going to fold it back in place and sew the raw edges, so make sure the tape isn't somewhere where it will get sewn...because the tape isn't staying there.
Take it all the way across the length of your headband and then hang it off one of the sides like so... then fold the fabric back in half.
Now sew the raw edge and stop about here on the side where the tape is danglin.
Fold the corner down and pull while also pulling on the tape as well. This will turn your head band right-side-in.
Now this is the SUPER IMPORTANT part. Make a loop on your wire and twist it tight. then stick it in your headband and make a loop at the other end so it will fit nicely in your band and cut off excess wire of coarse. Now go back to your sewing machine and sew up the unfinished tip and then sew in and over THE LOOPS so that the wire stays at the ends of your headband.

Then start playing. I seriously mean play time with this easy to shape wire, check this out...

You can Twist and hang...
Tie a Knot...
Tie a BOW...

Shape a FLOWER...

Or CROSS it...
You can shape anything your heart desires!

Thanks to my sister in law again for modeling. She was a great sport considering that we were outside in the middle of the snow doing hair and taking photos!
For another great version of this go HERE. She doubled the length and double wrapped it.

Leave me some comment lovin and let me know if you try this!

So cute! I love it. This is great for gifts because they are adjustable! :)

Great instructions you are clever. I am not so clever so I buy mine from ebay £2.99 and free posting - fresh.
