Okay, I seriously DREAD putting mascara on. I like it thick and full and long, but that takes me 10-15 minutes as well as 18 layers of mascara. (it's pitiful I admit, especially if I give you the details like...my dirty sewing pin covered in mascara because I cant seem to keep my eyelashes separated with out it and don't get me started on the wet q-tips on stand by in case I accidentally miss my lashes and cover my entire my face with the black mascara, which is always a given).
Mascara is it's own little world of complicated and I'm ready to uncomplicate my life.
Have you even HEARD of tinting your lashes before? I did for my first time a year ago this month. And I was DUMBFOUNDED because SO many times, while I was applying mascara, I would say to myself...I wish I could just color my lashes and be done with this insignificant bottle of black gunk. (I'm almost certain that's what I said).
And they ACTUALLY do it! Now I've heard of Eyelash extensions and I'm even well on my way to getting my license to apply them, but I'm having a hard time picturing myself doing my own on my own face!. (I do my own acrylic nails, but I can still use my eyesight for that)
I was at a spa and was checking their services and happened upon EYELASH TINTING. Now, my heart sped up a little. And I asked the receptionist if this is what I think it is. She confirmed it. It cost $21 and lasts about 6 weeks.
AWESOME.
So for any of you out there who want to go on a mascara strike with me...I'm doing it! And you're more than welcome to join me!
I'll post a before and after as soon as it's finished of coarse and keep you posted on the upkeeping. But seriously? Leaving my house with dark lashes and zero layers of mascara?
That's heaven.
I think this procedure is a MUST for blondes (or any gal!) And it takes about 20-30 minutes. I researched and saw that the average cost is about $35 depending on your location. So give me a hallar if this is a DUH! thing for you because I think it's quite brilliant! I've heard of coloring your eyebrows, but THIS is a Mint flavored Oreo kind of idea!
Till next time, (and wishing my lashes turn out like hers).

wow... i'd be too scared. i like when you update cuegly!
I have a good friend that just started doing eyelash extensions. They look so awesome! You should look into them. They are more expensive, but they last a long time and are amazing!
makes me glad i have brown hair!
I've been getting my eyelashes tinted for years and yes I am blonde. I get it done more often in the summer because when you swim, well you know, mascara runs.I find it a life saver from the other option of that thick gunk. Now if they could just figure out a way to give me permanent blush I would never have to do any makeup! Glad you found an alternate option that works!
You can do this yourself with a little practice. There are a lot of youtube videos on how to do it and a dye kit costs less than one spa application and there are multiple applicatons in a kit. Just a thought! You seem to be a DIY kind of girl to me. :)
I'm a cosmetologist and tinting was one of my very favorite things to do!
Also, i'm getting certified in eyelash extensions and they are more pricey, but SO worth it!
I cannot wait to see how it works for you!! Love that you are willing to test out these things and give us your feedback, so we can make very informed decisions!! Thanks!!!
AMAZING idea!! And it looks beautiful!! I think I might look into doing this...:)
I love the idea of eye lash tinting...but even more I love that you do your own acrylic nails! I have wanted to get mine put on for SO long now, but hate the idea of paying $50+ a month to keep them up. Could you do a tutorial on how you do it and the tools you use? I would LOVE that!
so i am more of a blog stalker that doesn't comment, but I HAD to on this one!
so i thought I was THE only person who got my mascara all over the place! My close friends and family make fun of me! last summer my husband and I went to brazil and I knew I didn't want to try and put water proof mascara on everyday, but I look 12 with out it so i got the tinting done. LOVED it!!! If I could afford to do it all the time I would and if I could afford it I would get the extensions! I had a co-worker who had them and I had no idea until we traveled for work one week and she let me in on her secret! No mascara and she had think long and black eyelashes!
ev.ver.ry.summer....this is first on my list. I am a hairstylist so I get the hook ups. But it is a MUST! I curse these blonde eyelashes of mine.
Sooo here is the scoop:
1.They aren't gonna turn out like that girls without a little help. No way. But a run of clear mascara on your way to the pool...will lengthen and define those freshly died lashes.
2. They will become salt and peppery when you start to cycle out your old eyelashes with new ones. You get an entirely new set of eyelashes about every 5-6 weeks.
3. Don't waste your money on brown... just do black. It's heaven and you no longer feel like an alien with missing eyelashes.
--the next option is eyelash extensions..they are gorgeous. My SIL got them done, but am thinking you would have to dye the blonde little guys to blend with the extension...IDK, never had them done, just seen 'em.
