Pants to Shorts {exchangeable patch}

I'm just getting ready for summer and sometimes when your kids are large (like my 4 year old wear 8-10 and my 2 year old wearing 5-6) you have to get frugal and creative with their clothes. Or just surrender to emptying out your wallet. It's really that simple.

So here's the beginner jeans:

before...
I cut a little below the knee...
And rolled...
(then ironed)
then I took 3 different colors of card stock to make a pattern for the patches.

Then I stitched on some velcro...
I made exchangeable patches with velcro as well...
We did this in the AM, so my daughter is trying to look lively. She loves center of attention so it wasn't hard for this little one to pose...

Yes, she's only two...


And I HAD to make something for the 4th this year!
{Okay...so center of attention can get boring sometimes}

We're NOW ready for summer!
