BEAUTY TIP TUESDAY

WHEN'S THE LAST TIME YOU
CLEANED YOUR MAKEUP BRUSHES?
IF YOUR ANSWER IS "I'M SUPPOSE TO CLEAN THOSE?"
THEN PLEASE PAY ATTENTION!
IT'LL MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE!
2 weeks ago I was having daily breakouts. For the life of me, I couldn't figure it out! I never even got a zit when I was in high school! And one fine morning it hit me!

Didn't I learn in cosmo school to clean your Brushes? Ya...ya I think I did!
My brushes seemed to be coated!
Your brushes can harbor insane amounts of bacteria! Causing all sorts of skin woes! Blemishes, breakouts, other makeup colors than desired, and lots and lots of bacteria just eating at your face!
So... SUDS UP LADIES!
* with very warm (but not hot) water, wet your brush (do not soak)
* put a dime size amount of shampoo in the palm of your hand (Brush Shampoo preferred) Although you can use an antibacterial soap or hair shampoo, a brush shampoo will longer the life span of your brushes.
* "paint" the brush back and forth on your hand and use your fingers to work the cleanser through the bristles to fully emulsify the dirt and debris (do not swirl or mash, as it can cause bristle damage)
* holding your brush at a downward angle, rinse until the water runs clear
* using your fingers, squeeze any excess water from the brush (make sure there are no suds remaining), reshape (closed tulip shapes for face brushes), and lay flat to dry.

Eye brushes will dry in just a few hours and face brushes should dry overnight. It is important to not use water that is too hot and to hold your brushes at a downward angle, in order to prevent damage to the binding glue of the bristles.
My breakouts are gone, and I'm also not wondering why my makeup color looks a lot darker!
AWW...

Whatever you do, don't use the same makeup brushes day in and day out without washing them. Aside from harboring bacteria, makeup pigments bind with the oils from your skin, making brushes sticky and dirty. Makeup colors can change, becoming darker or more orange due to oxidation and to mixing with skin oils or dust, making a mess of your daily makeup routine. Clean your brushes once a week to keep them working properly, and if a brush becomes stained or misshapen, throw it out and get a new one.
