phonics flashcards

I {{heart}} anything to help with phonics.

I really believe in working with children early to get them ready to be readers! I made a personal set of phonics flash cards for my almost 2 year old from his favorite items around the house. I used my photo program to put the letters on (comic sans font) and he loves them. He especially loves that they are items he sees and plays with everyday. I printed all 26 photos/phonics cards as a 4x6 photo and put them in a dollar store photo album.

A few FAVORITES below!

how 2 make:

--drape a chair or couch with a sheet
(by a window is best lighting)
--set your item off to one side to leave room to write
(if you don't have a photo program most kiosks will let you write on your pix.)
--print and start learnin'!

Happy THURSDAY! T xxoo

This is so cute. I've been wanting to make something like this but I'm glad I waited. I love your sheet idea and the writing.

I made one of these a few months for my son to help with his speech therapy! I used a white blanket on the couch next to the window too, and it is really helping him to learn the correct way to say the words.

OK, that is just seriously cute!! What a great idea!

That's funny, I used to live in Meridian, ID for about a year (that's where we found our daughter, haha). I loved it there!
Wow, sleeves scare me to death, too!! I can never get them just right. But, yes, you could totally cut longer sleeves to make ruffles! Or just cut off the bottom of a dress to make a ruffly shirt? I don't know. :o)
