So I thought that I could get by, by wearing Maybelline's Mineral Makeup without buying the expensive brands like Bare and Sheer and Raw. But here's the thing: I'm still not going to buy the expensive ones (although I've tried them all), but still wasn't getting by. I was noticing that I felt like I had enough 'coverage' while using Maybelline on days that my skin was already feeling flawless, but as soon as my skin decided to be NOT flawless, I hated my Maybelline Mineral Makeup.
Here's why: It's a powder, I dont think it can pass as a foundation. I'd LOVE to use it as a touch up powder though :)
And this is where I introduce you to my new love:
I use to be COMPLETELY against mineral makeup that attached the brush to the container, but it's honestly hard to complain when it's such a good brush and feels like rabbit's fur compared to Maybelline's horse hair (No, to all those anti fur people, they're not really made of animal fur). L'Oreal has more color selections, which to me, is worth the extra $4 to Maybelline. It's creamy. I haven't had creamy since I used Bare or Raw. So here's what I want you to do. 1: TRY IT! If you haven't been converted to mineral makeup yet, than get over to Walmart or Target, or where ever they sell this stuff.
2: Do it correctly! I first wash my face with water in the mornings, put on my moisturizer, and let it settle for a minute. Then When I'm ready to put my makeup on, I use a Makeup Primer (like this one below, that happens to be my fav. Walmart $7) {You CAN NOT use ANY mineral makeup without a primer and be happy about the results}......and I THEN apply my Mineral Makeup. (If I have flaws I use a concealer brush and just use my makeup as a concealer first, and THEN apply the foundation). 3. Dont use too much! I've been so used to using Maybelline and applying a lot for coverage, that I had to get use to NOT using so much when I started using Loreal. 4. Enjoy a light face that feels nude with great great coverage! :)

I love this stuff!! (Loreal) I've been waiting for my color (462) to be in stores for 2 days now and it's killing me using my old, backup, foundation! It always seems to be out! Maybe I should just stock up myself!! I'm going to see if it's in again tonight, I'll have to try the primer as well!!
I love the L'oreal mineral, I've tried a couple of others and never been happy with them either. I need to try the primer, I think that it would work even better.
This may be unrelated but I know you like grape seed oil. I'm having a rough time at supplement stores trying to find one to use. Is it just plain oil that you rub on your eyes? Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks! :)
Thanks for posting this! I've tried lot's of mineral makeup and really haven't been that satisfied. Your post is a lot of help!
Thanks for the recommendation! I'm definitely going to be trying it and the primer.
bought it and tried it although I think there are either two types or they changed the name to true match naturale. Either way love it :) next I have to try the primer I checked it out it is like 2ce the size of my 30$ bottle of primer from bare essentials !!! you rock
Hello.
I am interested in mineral makeup products.I try it. Thanks a lot.
I've been using Mary Kay's version for a while. Just bought a new container of it! I want to give this a try next time as I'm not completely satisfied with MK either. I acutally use it as a loose powder over liquid foundation. I look like I don't have anything on if I wear it alone. Maybe the primer is the key.....:o)
Thank you SO much for posting this!! I was about to get the Maybelline foundation until I came across your post. So I decided to get the primer and l'oreal, I LOVE it!!
