Early 90's to Urban
This rendition is an example of how to see potential in the clothes hanging on the rack without having to SEW it later. It's possible, but not always. So keep a keen eye out!(PART 1 FOUND HERE)
I got this dress for $5 at the D.I. It screamed early 90's with its floral pattern and the absence of any shape. It didn't even have a string or tie to give it shape. Just two big pockets on your waist!
Let's take a closer look at this pattern...
(Yes...90's with some potential I'm thinking).
So I took it home. {instantly removed the shoulder pads}
And this is what happened...
The belt and cardigan are crucial main factors here.
I can add a belt to almost any outfit for a makeover! But I must add that I personally think that EVERYONE NEEDS a nice cardigan in their wardrobe. This outfit wouldn't exist without the cardigan.
But the hat is totally up to you!
IDEA: Now if this dress was long, I would have cut and hemmed it to make it this length. You have to ponder and see its potential while thrift shopping. Dont take it as is.
Let's take a closer look:
That Belt: $1 D.I.
Cardigan: $14.99 Old Navy
Boot's: $3.99 Old Navy
Hat(optional): $7 Eye's of the World
Bracelet: Bought it from a homeless person on the side of the road {handmade}
Total outfit + Accessories: $30
Are you starting to get the hang of this? Or an idea?
If not...more coming soon.
Those boots are one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe. They were at Old Navy on clearance for $3.99 and guess what size they are??? A One Size Fits All!
I was like Whaa??? So I tried them on anyways and they fit. Hmmm. Well, I guess they are!
I'll take em! (So you might see a lot of them...just to warn ya. I LOVE them)
SEE YOU MAY 1st FOR A LINK UP PARTY!
GET THOSE CREATA-WHEELS A TURNIN {or sewin}!
If we get a decent turn out, I'll feature my favs and do a
GIVEAWAY!
