I went Yard Sale Shopping and got WAY TOO MANY THRIFTY TREASURES! (I'm slaving away so that you can SOON see what I'm working on)
I got this slightly out dated HALF BARREL-END TABLE
The Barrel Wood is gorgeous, but the fake wood table top and the random wood legs weren't working for this little fella

I'll be selling him at THIS CRAFT FAIR.![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisRzGNtuHOv8BFWUD0qMY_dOYmDB3vcbSDJe06Dir-W6KtLM1hdrKuSWUA3oMWyUK6X-FAAO3CJLQ4WZ5zXGg2fKKHEK56XE4sAP3vcg9XgKYT9EN3JHtpniiAtAhOuJjSVBvnnZ6PYH0/s320/BarrelSetUP.jpg)

So I gave the legs and the top a shiny new coat of spray paint, so that all the woodwork focused on the barrel's rustic wood. (and because black is the new modern)
Look at the beautiful old wood/metal/and nails!

He's not stickin around though...

I asked the lady how much she wanted for this, and she said...
"That thing's so old, you can have it for FREE!"
(Umm...SURE!)

I wish we had yard sales like that here (San Diego). No "flea markets" either. The closest we have are thrift stores. I keep my eyes open, but I can't help to be jealous of the fabulous finds you guys have in other parts of the country - where antique doesn't mean last year's iPhone.
My husband does come home with some great stuff sometimes, though - and you have inspired me to do some makeovers of my own. I will be sure to post when I am done. =)

good deal on the barrel table! it always pays to ask, doesn't it?!
That's a pretty cute table. We don't get many good garage sales over here either (Austin), especially since I live near downtown. And the closest Goodwill just has a lot of junk.
Amazing, Linds. What a transformation. You rock.
Looks good! Looking forward to seeing your other projects.
As I say "Cheap is good, free is best." There you go...isn't that just the best! Thanks for coming by to visit.
What a unique table, and you're right, the paint job made if perfect! Thanks for linking up to Trash to Treasure Tuesday!
oohh, it's lovely!
Free and gorgeous!
